Comparison of transient ischemic dilation ratios in SPECT and SPECT-CT myocardial perfusion imaging in the low pre-test probability group

چکیده
Introduction: The main purpose of this study was to compare transient ischemic dilation (TID) ratios in SPECT-low dose CT and SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) by application of different quantitative programs and quantify the possible shift in the upper normal limits of TID ratio in the SPECT-CT MPI. Methods: 149 Patients with low pre-test probability for coronary artery disease (CAD), based upon Diamond and Forrester method entered the study. Each patient underwent both attenuation correction (AC) SPECT-CT MPI and non attenuation correction (NAC) SPECT MPI (two day Tc-99m sestamibi stress-rest protocol). Normalcy rates were also calculated and compared. The comparison was based on both visual interpretation and quantitative analysis. Results: In the low pre-test probability group visual interpretations lead to a statistically significant improvement in normalcy rate in the SPECT-CT acquisition compared to the SPECT MPI. Regardless of the stress type and software programs used, no significant difference was noted in the upper normal limits of the TID ratios between the AC and NAC acquisitions. Conclusion: The study showed superiority of SPECT-CT MPI to SPECT MPI in terms of normalcy rate. We also propose new upper normal limits of TID ratios for different sets of acquisition-gender-stress modality-software programs.

متن کاملDifferent aspects of transient ischemic dilation
Transient ischemic left ventricular dilation (TID) is a marker of severe and extensive coronary artery disease as well as an increased risk of adverse outcomes. The patients with more severe and extensive ischemia, multivessel-type of perfusion abnormality as well as patients with left anterior descending artery (LAD) territory perfusion abnormality have more probab...
متن کاملMyocardial perfusion SPECT: Perfusion quantification
Different software tools for quantification of myocardial perfusion SPECT (MPS) studies are routinely used. Several perfusion parameters can be computed automatically. Interpretation of the MPS should start with visual inspection of the rotating planar images, visual analysis of reconstructed SPECT slices and then quantitative analysis to confirm the visual impression. Quantification should be...
متن کاملCovid-19 manifestation on Tl-201 myocardial perfusion SPECT/CT
A 67 years old woman was referred to nuclear medicine center for myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) for assessment of ischemic heart dieses (IHD).She had a history of atypical chest pain and dyspnea since about 10 days before admission. The MPI SPECT/CT was performed by stress/redistribution Tl-201 protocol. MPI was interpreted as relatively good coronary flow with no appreciable stress induced...
متن کاملGated myocardial perfusion SPECT in patients with left bundle block but having low probability of coronary artery disease; as compared to the patients with normal electrocardiogram
Introduction: We aimed to investigate of effect of left bundle branch block (LBBB) on perfusion and functional parameters in dipyridamole Tc99m-MIBI gated myocardial perfusion SPECT which may be helpful in interpretation of myocardial perfusion imaging. Methods: We studied 70 patients with low pre-test probability of coronary artery disease in two groups: 35 patients with LBBB and 35 subject...
